Last week, the Charity Commission launched an improved online register of charities. You can now easily see information on registered charities based in Nottingham South at the click of a button.

You can use the register to inform your choices about the charities you support, or from whom you seek support. By checking the charity register before donating, donors can be sure that their money is going to a recognised charity, with the added protections that brings.

The new register display increases transparency about how charities are run, and how they manage their finances. For example, you will now be able to find information about salaries paid to senior staff members (in bands, upwards from £60k), whether a charity’s trustees are remunerated and its income, if any, from government contracts.
