The annual competition to design my official Christmas card has now closed and the winners have been decided!
The cards featuring the winning design will be professionally printed and sent out to hundreds of individuals, organisations, and people that I’ve worked with, both in Nottingham and across the country.
Three runners up have also been chosen, and their designs will feature on the back of the finished card.
There are also prizes for runners up, as well as Special Merit awards and a ‘Best in School’ prize for each school taking part.
The theme this year was local transport: cycling, walking, taxis and road safety. If any children struggled with the theme they were able to do a brightly designed Christmas card.
The winning design has been chosen by a panel of local judges including:
- Tasha Markham – Operations Manager, E.ON Next;
- Richard Daniels, Founder, Forever Stars;
- Adam Hussain, Senior Manager, Technical Training & Development Specialist, E.ON Net Zero Academy;
- Lisa Brackner, People & Development Director, Bridgeway Consultants Ltd.; and
- Louise Gilmore – Policy Advocacy Manager, E.ON.
I’m pleased to say that our main sponsor this year is EON, along with support from Nottingham Bowl, Nottingham Panthers, Notts County Cricket Club, Nottingham Forest FC, Notts County FC, and Theatre Royal.
Sponsors donate the printing and postage of the cards, as well as prizes for the winners.
This year’s 2025 overall winner is Charlie Gu, age 10, from Fernwood Primary School in Wollaton.
2024 Overall Winner: Aadvik Ranjan, Age 6, Welbeck Primary School
Last year I also sent a Christmas card in my capacity as the then Minister for the Future of Roads.

It was a real pleasure to welcome Inayah to Parliament in November 2024. Our winner and her family enjoyed a tour of the Palace of Westminster before joining me for lunch.
