Lilian visited the CWU Women’s Committee in Northampton today.

Over 1,000 staff work at Royal Mail’s distribution centre near Northampton and the vast majority are members of the Communication Workers Union (CWU). Liian was pleased to be invited to talk to their Women’s Committee where they discussed a wide range of issues including the junior doctors’ dispute, rising bus and rail fares, and the process of becoming an MP.  Lilian said “Politics is about the decisions that affect all our daily lives and would be strengthened by having more women from all backgrounds and occupations involved”. She was impressed by the work of the CWU Women’s Committee and hopes that more of them will go on to become representatives in their union or get involved in local or national politics.
