Lilian met with scientists in the morning at the Nottingham Hearing BRU at Ropewalk House, to learn about research that is now taking place within the department.  She met with Dr Ian Wiggins who demonstrated how to measure neural plasticity with near-infrared spectroscopy.

 Lilian also met with Dr Jodie Davies-Thompson to learn more about magnetic resonance imaging.

Following further discussions with Dr Padraig Kitterick about the health economics of interventional devices used to treat hearing problems, Lilian travelled to the University of Nottingham to see the Sir Peter Mansfield Magnetic Resonance Centre to learn about scanning and lung imaging.
