Nottingham Circle was pleased to welcome Nottingham South MP Lillian Greenwood to one of their events on Friday 14th June. Over 30 members gathered for lunch in Wetherspoons on St. James Street where Lilian was able to hear first-hand the difference Nottingham Circle has made to the lives of members.
Lilian said:

"I was really pleased to join Nottingham Circle's members and volunteers for lunch on Friday to hear about their experiences - which were truly inspiring.
“People told me that joining Nottingham Circle had literally changed their lives - helping them to overcome isolation, bereavement and depression.
“It's incredible that something as simple as providing the opportunity for people to meet up, make friends and enjoy social activities together can have such a profound impact on their health and well-being.
“I hope the organisation continues to grow as I'm sure there are many more older people in our city who could benefit from the opportunities Nottingham Circle offers."
Nottingham Circle offers its members a monthly calendar of events, covering everything from balloon rides to bowling and foreign language lessons. Members can enjoy at least 24 day trips a year and holidays in the UK and abroad. Alongside the events, Nottingham Circle has a dedicated team of neighbourhood helpers who can support people in the home and garden, from one to one computer support to getting the hedges trimmed.
