Proud of Nottingham's support for refugees

Lilian met with volunteers at the Big Nottingham Collection.

On Friday evening Lilian attended a very successful fundraising dinner in support of the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Refugee Forum which had been organised by Nottingham City Labour Councillors.

And on Saturday she joined hundreds of people who donated tents, sleeping bags, warm clothes and food for those refugees living at the camps in France. Afterwards Lilian said  “I'm proud that Nottingham is a compassionate and caring city and that Labour members and activists have played an important role in supporting those organisations that assist refugees fleeing persecution, war and extreme poverty. The generosity of local people and the enthusiasm and commitment of those who organised the event was really humbling - my congratulations to all involved”.
