Lilian's Subtitle it! Private Members' Bill due for Second Reading on November 20

Lilian was selected twelfth out of 20 MPs drawn in this year’s Private Members’ Bill ballot. This means that she was given the opportunity to present a bill on an issue of her choosing. Lilian has long had an interest in hearing loss issues, and in the rights of people with hearing loss.

Lilian said:

"Everyone should have access to the high quality TV programmes and films that are offered by broadcasters and platform operators in the UK today. But, with thousands of hours of on-demand programming inaccessible to people with hearing and sight loss – due to a lack of subtitles, signing and audio description - urgent action is needed to prevent the digital exclusion of these groups."
