Lilian launched new £3.2 million electric bus fleet today and said "We have got 58 electric buses, which makes us the largest municipal electric fleet in the whole of Europe. I think that's a measure of how much of a world leader Nottingham is when it comes to public transport, especially green transport."
She added that the new buses were greener and therefore helping towards climate change objectives, they are cleaner, with no diesel fumes which are bad for health, they are cheaper to run and they are quieter. Nottingham is leading the way on tackling climate change, air quality and protecting public services.
