Lilian today visited Clinical Pathology Services at the QMC and spent the morning shadowing Laboratory Assistant and constituent Donna Hinchcliffe.

Clinical Pathology services are now delivered through EMPAth, a new NHS pathology service set up by Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) in partnership with the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (UHL).

EMPath carries out more than 25 million pathology tests and serves more than three million patients every year, providing services to around 600 GPs across the East Midlands.

After the spending the morning with the Clinical Pathology team, Lilian then went on to the Hospital School to visit staff there and discuss the work of the School.
