Lilian Greenwood, MP for Nottingham South, has visited Mellers Primary School in Radford to launch a competition to design her official Christmas card for 2010.
The competition, the first of an annual event, is open to all children at primary schools in Lilian's constituency with the winning design and three runners-up to be chosen by a panel including Charlie Walker, Projects Editor for the Nottingham Evening Post.
The city MP's official Christmas card for 2010 will be professionally printed and sent out to people, organisations and businesses across Nottingham and Westminster, including Labour party leader, Ed Miliband.
Lilian Greenwood said, "I was delighted to go back to Mellers Primary School to launch the competition to design my official Christmas card for 2010."
"This is a real community project, giving children in Nottingham South the opportunity to showcase their talents and creativity."
"I am grateful to my fellow judges for agreeing to help me with the difficult task of picking one winner, and three runners-up. I know we're all looking forward to the entries arriving over the next few weeks."
"I hope that lots of schools take up the challenge and get involved."
