Lilian celebrated Small Business Saturday by helping to showcase some of Nottingham's fantastic small businesses.

I'm delighted to announce that the winner of my 2015 Christmas card competition is Amna Mall, aged 5, from Riverside Primary School.  Our theme this year was 'to make us smile' and that is exactly what the picture did.   I received  around 800 entries this year and Amna's just stood out from them all.  The winning design was chosen by Pino De Rosa, Managing Director of Bridgeway Consulting Ltd, who were our sponsors this year.  Mike Sassi, Editor of the Nottingham Post and Amanda Spruyt from the Nottingham Contemporary.

Amna's prize will be a trip to Parliament, with travel and lunch. £100 gift voucher courtesy of Bridgeway Consulting, 2 Pantomime tickets for the Theatre Royal and cinema tickets from the Savoy Cinema.  

All the winning entries will be displayed at the Nottingham Contemporary Art Gallery on the weekend of 12th -13th December 2015.

In addition I would also like to thank everyone who helped to make the competition so successful - Toys R Us, Nottingham Forest FC, Nottingham Panthers, Build a Bear workshop, House of Fraser, the Entertainer toy shop and the Nottingham Contemporary. 

I wanted to set out as fully as I can my stance ahead of tomorrow’s vote on airstrikes against ISIS in Syria, and explain why I have decided to vote against the Government’s motion.

Lilian was delighted to be given a tour of Nottingham Trent University's new Pavilion building, along with members of the Royal Institute of British Architects East Midlands.

Lilian was invited to open Milford Academy's new library last Friday.  Lilian said:

"Although the library was fantastic, the young librarians were even more impressive.  They are the first set of Milford Academy librarians. They are so enthusiastic about reading and it is about encouraging their classmates to read.  Everybody knows being a good reader is not only really important in school, but opens the doors to learning."

Lilian was delighted to take part in the 2015 Royal Society pairing scheme with Nottingham based scientist Rebecca Dewey.

Lilian was delighted to be invited to speak at the 2015 East Midlands Young Labour Conference.

Lilian was delighted to visit the Fernwood School to today, where she toured the facilities, heard from the leadership team and met pupils.

Lilian says the junior doctor contract must be fair for doctors and safe for patients.
